Irene M. Sprague is a graduate of Bucknell University, Lewisburg, Pa. and The
Salvation Army School for Officers’ Training. She is also a former secondary
mathematics teacher in Pennsylvania, a former Salvation Army Officer, and an
ordained minister through the Evangelical Church Alliance, Bradley, Illinois.
She is now president of Life Is
From God Ministries, a pro-life organization based here in Marion. This
organization is involved with life from conception to natural death. She is the
editor of the organization’s newsletter, as well.
She and her husband, George, host
a monthly T.V. program on T.V. 39 the first Tuesday of every month at 5:30 p.m.
LIFG coordinates the annual Life Chain, the yearly Sanctity of Life program, and
Operation Christmas Child (along with the Women’s Club Home).
Irene was president of the Women’s
Club Home for six years and a member of PDIMA (Poetry Day in Marion Association)
for 15 years. She has published three books of poetry and two other books, I
Cried Alone and I AM. She
and her husband are active in community affairs. The Spragues have five
children, ten grandchildren, and three great grandchildren (plus a snow-white
lapsa apso named Missy Too).
