Prospect Woman Killed in Crash

The Marion Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol says a Prospect woman was killed in a crash that occurred at 11:22 pm Tuesday, January 31, on Dunbar Road north of State Route 47.

The Patrol says Ashley D. Vance, 24, of Prospect, was driving a 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt northbound on Dunbar Road when she failed to negotiate a curve to the right and went off the left side of the roadway. The vehicle overturned, partially ejecting her out of the sun roof. The vehicle came to a rest on its top.

Vance did not survive the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene. The Patrol says she was not wearing her seatbelt and a toxicology report is pending.

Marion County Coroner Marc Comianos, Battle Run Fire Department, Fort Morrow Fire Department, Stofcheck, and Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies assisted troopers at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
