Two More Elite Wrestlers Qualify for State Tourney

Two Marion Elite wrestlers qualified for the OAC State Wrestling Tournament Sunday at the New Lexington Districts to bring the tally to 9 Elite wrestlers qualifying this year out of 11 attempts.

Qualifying for the fifth time in as many tries was Mitchell Miracle who was the division 4 (11-12 yr old) 70 lb champion. Mitchell gave up only two points in the tournament, solidifying his spot in the OAC State to be held at the Youngstown Covelli Centre March 17th-18th.

Jarrid Miracle earned his second State bid taking third in the D3 (9-10 yr old) 55 lb class. Jarrid knocked off two previous state qualifiers before losing in the semi finals to the eventual district champ then wrestled back to go for third and fourth where he won by tech fall 15-0 to take third.

Marion Elite Wrestling, located at 309 North Main Street in Marion, will continue to train through April for the Nationals. Registration is ongoing and the facility is open to non-Elite or Mighty Mite wrestlers for $5 per visit for 2 hours of training.
